Acceptable Use Policy

Rules governing your use of the VetTrack Pro platform

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) supplements the Terms of Service and specifies behaviours that are prohibited. By using VetTrack Pro you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Data Integrity

  • You must not upload false, fabricated, or materially misleading wildlife case data, GPS coordinates, or veterinary records.
  • Reports submitted to conservation authorities or donors via this platform must accurately reflect underlying case data.
  • Manipulation of case records to inflate reported wildlife interventions for funding purposes is strictly prohibited and may constitute fraud.

2. Security

  • You must not attempt to bypass authentication, exploit vulnerabilities, or access data belonging to other institutions.
  • You must not conduct penetration testing against the platform without prior written authorisation from security@vettrackpro.com.
  • You must not introduce malware, ransomware, or any harmful code via uploads or API calls.
  • You must report suspected security vulnerabilities to security@vettrackpro.com — do not disclose them publicly before we have had 90 days to respond.

3. API Usage

  • API access is subject to rate limits (200 requests/day; 50 requests/hour by default). Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits.
  • Automated scraping of the web interface (outside the API) is prohibited.
  • API keys must not be shared with unauthorised parties or embedded in public repositories.

4. Messaging and Communications

  • Internal messages must be professional and relevant to wildlife management and veterinary operations.
  • You must not send unsolicited commercial messages (spam) via the platform messaging system.
  • Email campaigns may only be sent to users who have opted in to marketing emails.
  • Harassment, threats, or abusive language directed at other users is prohibited.

5. Payments

  • The payment system must not be used for money laundering, fraudulent transactions, or any illegal financial activity.
  • You must not attempt to process payments on behalf of third parties not associated with your institution.

6. Consequences of Violation

Violations of this AUP may result in: immediate suspension or termination of your account; reporting to law enforcement or regulatory authorities; civil or criminal liability under Kenyan law and applicable international law.
